iPod Integration

The hottest trend in car audio is iPod integration with your audio system. Years ago everyone wanted to have a CD changer so they could have up to 6 CDs available at your fingertips. Now with an iPod, you can have thousands of songs with you at all times.
There are a few different ways to connect your iPod to your audio system. The best way is to integrate your iPod with your factory or aftermarket system. If your system allows this type of integration, you can control your entire iPod through your in dash screen. Choose your music by Artist, Genre, Playlist or any other standard way. If your car allows, you can control the iPod with your steering wheel controls. The iPod connector is mounted in the glove box or inside the center console. Additionally, this method will keep your iPod charged at all times.
Not every system allows for seamless integration. The next best way to integrate your iPod is what we call “CD Emulation.” The iPod is hard-wired directly to your system. You can play up to 6 predefined playlists. You can switch playlists using the controls on your in-dash audio system. You can even move forwards and backwards within each playlist. If your car allows, you can control the iPod with your steering wheel controls. The iPod connector is mounted in the glove box or inside the center console. This method also keeps your iPod charged at all times.
The last method is a hard-wired FM modulator or wiring the iPod into an auxiliary input on your car radio. Don't confuse “hard-wired” FM modulation with regular FM modulation. A hard-wired installation sounds great with little loss of fidelity. With this method you control the song selection directly from the iPod.
