Perzan Auto Radio in Upper Darby has been in business since 1948 and offers the finest blind spot monitoring systems for any vehicle. Long before this technology was available in the aftermarket, our company was designing and sourcing products ourselves to have solutions for our clients. We break these down into two distinctly different types; monitor-style solutions and camera-based systems. Both of them allow you to know if another vehicle is in your blind spot, making you a safer driver and helping you eliminate an accident. If you currently own a vehicle without this technology or are looking to purchase a new car that may not include it, don’t worry – we can help.
Blind Spot Monitoring Systems
Our most-popular system uses radar-based technology to alert you if another vehicle comes into your blind spot. When you are driving up the road and someone comes up behind you on the right side, an indicator that we mount on the A-pillar of your vehicle will illuminate to alert you of their presence. Should you decide to activate your right turn signal, the indicator starts flashing and an audible warning goes off as a second line of defense so you don’t go into that lane.
The same thing happens on the left side. If someone comes up behind you on the left side of your car, truck or SUV, the indicator illuminates first and then you get an audible warning if you activate your left blinker. The only thing you will notice is the indicators that go inside your vehicle on the A-pillar, which is at the far end of the windshield on the left and right side in easy view of the driver. We mount the sensors themselves securely in place behind the rear bumper, completely hidden from view.
Camera-based Blind Spot Solutions
Our camera-based blind spot systems are also popular solutions. Our highly skilled technicians will install a camera under the side-view mirrors on your car, truck, SUV, commercial vehicle or RV. For inside the vehicle, we have a range of options to display the image from the cameras. If you drive something with a color screen in the dash, the chances are good that we can integrate with that monitor, giving you a factory-looking solution.
Other popular options include replacement stereo systems with integrated monitors, replacement rear-view mirrors with a built-in monitor, or a stand-alone monitor for commercial or RV applications.
Whichever style you end up with, operating it is very simple. When you activate your left blinker, the left camera comes to life, displaying what is in your left blind spot. If you activate your right turn signal, you now see the image from the right camera, letting you see the blind spot on the right side.
